Born out of companies that care in Cumbria

Forests With Impact emerged from the heart of Cumbria, where a visionary group of individuals and companies came together with a shared purpose—to create positive change in their community and environment.

It is this pioneering spirit that has breathed life into our initiative, and today, we proudly introduce the Forests With Impact Cumbria Programme.

Setting Up the Commercial Tree Nursery:

We are in the process of setting up a commercial tree nursery at HMP Haverigg, Cumbria. We are privileged to have a network of Regional Partners in place who are experts in forestry, woodland creation, prison programmes, and community development. Their unwavering dedication and local insight are invaluable as we navigate the installation of Forests With Impact together.

HMP Haverigg:

HMP Haverigg have earmarked land on the prison estate that can be used. The land has been surveyed by our forestry experts and plans drawn up so we can plant circa 145,000 seeds once the commercial polytunnels have been installed.

We have received a government match funding from The Tree Production Capital Grant (TPCG) which will help cover the initial set up costs alongside the money generously donated by the National Partners.

Our National Partners are crucial to our Regional success as they give skills and expertise to help manage the programme regionally.

We are now working through the operational set-up programme with their expert guidance and support of all our Regional Partners.

Our Valued Customer:

Raise, an integral part of Cumbria Woodlands, is not only our partner but also our customer. They are poised to purchase the trees we cultivate, furthering their ambitious goal of planting 150 hectares of woodlands across Cumbria by 2028. This collaboration perfectly aligns with our vision of ecological enrichment and sustainable growth.
